Sinopse:
A era Edo está chegando ao fim. Gabimaru, tido como o mais forte ninja de Iwagakure, está condenado à morte, e sua única chance de sobreviver é obter o Elixir da Vida em uma certa ilha, que segundo rumores é a terra budista de Sukhavati. Na esperança de reencontrar sua querida esposa, Gabimaru segue para a ilha acompanhado de seu carrasco, Yamada Asaemon Sagiri. Ao chegar lá, eles encontram outros condenados em busca do mesmo Elixir... Além de criaturas desconhecidas, estátuas aterrorizantes e ermitões nativos. Será que Gabimaru conseguirá encontrar o Elixir da Vida e voltar vivo?

1 - The Death Row Convict and the Executioner
Gabimaru, a ninja member of a clan of assassins, is sentenced to death. He claims to have nothing to tie him to life, yet no method of execution manages to end his life. His meeting with Sagiri Yamada Asaemon, who seems to be investigating him, will change everything.
2 - Screening and Choosing
The condemned criminals are gathered on the beach to prepare for the expedition to Shinsenkyo, but first, they must reduce their numbers.
3 - Weakness and Strength
Gabimaru, Sagiri, and the others arrive on Shinsenkyo, and their battle for survival begins.
4 - Hell and Paradise
Gabimaru and Sagiri are in trouble during their first fight against the islands mysterious creatures. Gabimaru is unaware of these monstrosities and this puts him at a disadvantage in battle. The sudden arrival of Yuzuriha, the female ninja, will change the situation, but Gabimaru does not see clearly in her game.
5 - The Samurai and the Woman
Gabimaru and Sagiris group cross paths with another Yamada Asaemon, Genji, who takes a dim view of Sagiris involvement in the present matter. Meanwhile, Yamada Asaemon Tenza tries to find a way off the island along with his charge, Nurugai.
6 - Heart and Reason
Rokurota starts to cause serious problems for Sagiri and Gabimaru, and now they must think of a strategy to defeat him!
7 - Flowers and Offerings
Chobe and Toma encounter people unlike any theyve ever encountered before. Gabimaru and Sagiris party finally meet people who live on the island.

Tenza and Nurugai also encounter one of the islands strange denizens with unfathomable power. All seems lost before they encounter another Yamada Asaemon...

Mei attempts to explain something very important to Sagiris party in the forest. Shion tries to explain how he interacts with the world to Nurugai. A mysterious servant of the Tensen tries to explain why Aza Chobe and Toma shouldnt escape.

Chobe brings new abilities to bear as he faces the Tensens servants. A secret of Meis is revealed to Gabimaru, hardening his resolve to fight and opening him up to a new perception of the world.

Mu Dan confronts Sagiris party and reveals shocking truths about the islands true nature.
13 - Dreams and Reality
Sagiris party faces Mu Dans seemingly unstoppable true form. Shion does his best to rise to the challenge with his mastery of waves.
